Everlee’s Birth Story

Our sweet Everlee made her arrival on July 1st, 2026, at exactly 39 weeks. After a full moon, it felt like the perfect way for our last little baby to make her entrance into the world. ✨

At around 5:30 that morning, I woke up and realized I was in labor. My contractions started off strong and were already about 3 minutes apart. Knowing how quickly my previous labors had progressed, I called my midwife, Jude, almost immediately. I had a feeling we didn’t have much time to waste.

By the time she arrived, my contractions were about 2 minutes apart and were really starting to intensify. We quickly got everything ready and began filling up the birthing pool. Once everything was set up, I got into the warm water around 7:30 AM. The water felt amazing and helped me through the contractions for about 40 minutes.

As we got closer to 8:00, though, I became increasingly uncomfortable. Something inside me told me it was time to get out of the water, so I did. Little did I know, I was getting very close to meeting my baby girl.

The last 30 minutes of labor were intense. My contractions were coming about every minute, and I barely had a break between them. My water broke just 15 minutes before Everlee was born.

At 8:15 AM, I started pushing.

Those 15 minutes felt like forever. Everlee was sunny-side up, which made pushing especially difficult, and this ended up being my hardest labor yet, even though it was also my fastest, lasting just 3 hours! Every contraction was so incredibly intense, but what pushed me through them was knowing each contraction was bringing me closer to meeting my sweet baby girl!

And then, at 8:30 AM, our girl was born.

She came into the world weighing 6 pounds 7 ounces, and she started crying before her body was even completely out! She was ready to let everyone know she had arrived.

The moment she was placed in my arms, I felt so much relief, happiness, and love. After everything, there she was—my beautiful baby girl.

My daughter Nevaeha and my mother-in-law, Rana, were in the room with me when Everlee was born, holding my hands and supporting me through it all. Her dad has always been a little squeamish when it comes to seeing our babies being born , so he stepped out of the room right before she was born, but came right back in as soon as Everlee arrived. He got to hold her and have some precious skin-to-skin time with his new baby girl.

It was such a beautiful, peaceful, perfect home birth.

And this one was different.

As I held Everlee in my arms, I found myself cherishing every little moment just a little more. Knowing she was my last baby made everything feel even more emotional. The newborn cries, the tiny hands, the first cuddles, the feeling of finally meeting the baby I had carried for nine months…I knew I wanted to soak it all in.

After four babies, four labors, and four home births, our family feels complete. ❤️ All 4 home births were with Jude, and I’m so incredibly thankful and blessed to have had her as my midwife. She’s more than just my midwife—I now have a lifelong friend!

Recovery was wonderful, and thankfully I didn’t tear. My body felt like it had done exactly what it needed to do.

Everlee, you were worth every contraction, every difficult moment, and every second of waiting to meet you.

You completed our family in the most beautiful way.
